THE STRETHAM CHARITY

The Stretham Charity was formed in 1553 by Dr. Richard Rysley with later bequests in 1717 and 1727 from Mrs Martha Digby, and Lady Effingham Howard.

THE PURPOSE OF STRETHAM CHARITY

The Stretham Charity owns 5 Properties in Stretham, the village allotments, and agricultural land, which together provide a charitable fund used solely, other than for maintaining our assets, for alleviating hardship and aiding education for the benefit of those living in Stretham village.

Earnings from money, property and land bequeathed and managed by the Stretham Charity Trustees is purely for the benefit of Stretham residents. The Trustees are governed by tight guidelines which prescribe that aid provided by the Charity can only be for Financial assistance during periods on hardship and educational needs.

WHAT IF I NEED HELP?

If you find yourself, or your organisation is, in a situation when you need financial help caused by hardship or an educational need and you are resident in Stretham, please talk to the Charity.

We cannot promise to offer support in every case, but for the vast majority of situations we go out of our way to provide assistance at some level.

The Charity is not directly connected with Stretham Parish Council, for information and contacts please visit their website.
